Interesting hot start issue - 88 TPI

Driving yesterday in 90-100 degree temps, AC on- no issues.
I go inside a store and come out to start the car, it sputters 100-400rpm and dies.

After 20mins I try again and it starts up running normal.
I head to the gas station and before adding fuel I turn it off/restart and same thing 100-400rpm and dies (gas cap off to verify not a tank pressure issue).
Added some fuel, let it sit, starts normal again.

Leads me to believe something is heatsoaking:
I was originally thinking fuel, but the fuel pump and injectors were replaced 3 years ago, fuel rail has shown good pressure, and FPR doesn't have fuel coming out of the hose.
Could a heatsoaked sensor like IAC / MAF or ignition coil / ICM cause something like this?

88 TPI, basically stock with newer parts.

Did this just start? Is it a long crank time? May be something to do with fuel. To rich maybe. Warm engine won't like a lot of fuel.

Yes it just started, crank time and starter are normal.
True, it could be running rich. I did not see any smoke/smell anything when it happened however.

Pressing the gas while it was happening would kinda get it to go up just a little further in rpm but overall was still stumbling hard and would die.

Saw a similar thread on here, the solution was to replace the ICM.
I'll keep that in mind as I think the ICM & coil are still factory.

ICM's can act up when they get hot. If yours is original, I'd change it as a precaution. And I'd get the Delco original off Rock auto. I had one where the car would not get above 3000 RPM when it warmed up, and it backfired so hard that it blew the guts out of the CAT and the header gasket.

which injectors do you have in there? This can happen when you have one or more bad coils on your injectors

Oh wow, lol bet that sounded great..
I have definitely learned my lesson buying cheap sensors in the past, so I'll have to grab one of those Delco ICMs from Rock Auto.

I am actually running your Southbay 22lb orange TPI injectors, I got them from you guys in 10/2021.

Checked them cold and they all were all within 15.1 - 15.3, so I'm thinking they should be OK! Thank you though!
I will check them again hot and see what happens.

EDIT: checked hot and they were all in range of 16.9 - 17.3, so looking good from what I can tell.
