i have a 91 RS 305tbi and plan on dropping a 350 in soon. It will just be a stock 350 except with some headers attached and a cam. The rest i will do as i get the money. I plan on putting on AFR 190 heads, 454 tbi with #90 injectors,Edelbrock TBI intake bored to fit 454, and definantly custom burned prom. But when i put the 350 in i never want to take it out again so now i need to decside on a cam that will still let me pass smog in CA. I dont really know if a cam has that much to do with emmissions or not but i will still have my cat on and all my smog equipment, so what is the best cam for me?(I am trying to get as muchhorse power as my rear can handle if any one wants to know)

If you have a Hot Rod subscription or no someone who does they did a 350 build up and with this cam they got 491 horse out of it with some other stuff, so you should give it a try. They had AFR heads also and 9.5 to one compression. Its the Jan 2002, or the build up is in April 2001. The cam is a Comp Cams XE294R roller cam (.540/.562 lift) 242/248 at .050. Give it a rty these cars are all made street legal so it shgould work. Hope this will help you or give you some thought...

Don't forget that your selection will be limited right now unless you pick one for the future for when you have selected a higher stall converter.

I don't know a lot about how cams affect emissions, so I'll let someone else pick one out for you. Oh, what are the conditions of the TCs. New, used, rebuilt? I'd be very interested in one.

Sometimes you can run the biggest cam you can find and not have any problems with emisions. Then sometimes you can pick a street legal cam and not pass so I say pick one you think will make your car run the best with your future plans. I would just say to stay away from overpriced cams made by companys that are going to charge way to much for a cam that you can get a cam with almost exactly the same specs from comp, crane,or gm.
