GM "SCAN" tool recommendation?

Hi all, I have an 86 trans am (TPI) and when troubleshooting the service manual I have calls for a "SCAN" tool to read off various values from sensors and such. Google is a mess and I can't really tell what will actually do this. Do you have a recommendation for a SCAN tool to get so I can read off, for example, what my MAF sensor is outputting?

Should be plenty of Tech 1 scan tools on ebay, that was the GM required tool back in the day. Snap-On big red brick style were very good for early systems, plenty of those around. For new Autel is good and pretty resonable.

Mt2500, otc pathfinder, I like tunerpro rt but need a good quality cable to connect to it. Win aldl works too not as user friendly.
