What does the term 2+2 mean?

I've heard some performance cars being referred to as a 2+2 and was just wondering what it meant.

thanks

I've seen it on twin turbo cars.. that's a possibility.

2+2 means there is definately two seats in the front, but in the back they could also be called seats if ya feel like calling them that, but they certainly arent full size seats.

So it generally means that there is 2 seats in front, the back seats is more considered for cargo, but heck if people don't mind being cramped suuuure they could sit back there also.

I'm not really sure our cars are 2+2, I think our cars are considered 4 seaters believe it or not. Trust me when you see a 2+2 car you'll know what I'm saying.

My Dad's 300ZX is a 2+2 (2 front seats, 2 midget sized back seats)... as opposed to the 2 seater coupe or 2 seater twin turbo.

2+2 was originally used on the old pontiacs and them the "2+2" was like said 2 seats in the front, 2 in the back, they were alose more performance oriented full size cars back in the 60's usally allways having big 428's and 4-speeds.

Ever sat in the back seats of a 95 Supra?
That car shouldn't even have back seats, there is a lot less space in there than in our f-body's.

Yea the above is correct, but I wouldnt immediately tag the rear seat as being useless, it depends on the car. The newer ones, probably. But on, say, a 1965 Pontiac 2+2 the rear seat has more space than the front seat does in your thirdgen.
