Interior Weight

For all of you that are curious, I removed the Camaro's interior today. I'm just starting to turn it into a Bracket Car and I removed everything except, the door panels, dash & instrument panel, kick panels and the headliner.

All seats, carpet, side panels, console, etc,etc.......were removed for a total of 215 lbs!!!

Jim,

Thanks for posting that. I was always a bit curous about the weight of the seats and trim. Really, I would have expected it to be a bit more than that, but I was only guessing.

I would suspect the carpets would gain you another few pounds, and the radio, HVAC controls, HVAC ducting and enclosure, and all the rest of the "fluff" that makes a car saleable would net you another 50-60 pounds. The wiring for all the accessories alone must weigh ten pounds at least. Don't forget the speakers, since the magnets and frames are pretty massive.
