Starter compatibility question
Hi guys/gals. Up front gonna apologize for this possibly being improperly placed, and i know i heard what i am about to ask on these forums, for that... don't persecute me too harshly.
I'm looking for a lower cost solution to eliminating heat soak on my 89 IROC. Right now she has the 1000lbs behemoth of a starter, that i actually lost grip of a mere week ago striking out two of my teeth in the process of it falling the 8in to my face while trying to work her out of that tight PITA spot she's in.
So the question is...
Would i be able to take one of the mini hi-torq starters from say a 95 S10 or same year blazer and bolt it right up to Rocky?
If not, what would be a similar and equally cost effective replacement for said application?
I'm almost 96.4% sure i came across that on this site, but after looking through thousands of postings for 2 days... i cannot find it.
Thanks for your time.

Re: Starter compatibility question
Use Google to search, add site:thirdgen.org to your search terms. Works much better than the search here.
Stock 89 engine, a later LT1 starter from a 93-97 f-body or Corvette is smaller lighter. I'll bet you can guess which is smaller and more expensive.
Hit up Google, search, read, lots of info.

Re: Starter compatibility question
Thanks for the info guys, an yea im getting a Christine type feeling from her lately too lol. It will all hopefully be worth it in a few days, but im gonna only shoot for breaking down a few miles from the house testing her out, so im not too disappointed lol. But ya gotta love these things to stick with em like a lot of us do. Thanks again.
And the google search did allow for much better results. I had always unchecked that option to keep it easier to see what was what, backfired. I still cang get a pic to upload though.

Also, im still a noob at posting in the forums an apologize for not properly quoting to give props where deserved. Have a habit of answering to all at once in one paragraph.
