LE9 305 Horsepower

Just curious on what the typical horsepower is. I've got one in my car from an 86 c10 without smog and of course I ran an electric fan has about 50k miles right now I plan to get a 350 or 383 as I want more power but curious on cheap power increases and what the horsepower they typically get is.
Picture of the motor.

Re: LE9 305 Horsepower

150 HP or so stock. Put some better springs in the heads, Summit K1103 cam set, headers and 3in exhaust and you may get 240 HP.

Re: LE9 305 Horsepower

86 C10 305 factory is
165 hp (123 kW) @ 4400 RPM 240 lb⋅ft (325 N⋅m) @ 2000 RPM
Probably a fair amount less now

Mine in my 83 G20 did 191 HP/268 TQ at the tires through a 700r4 and GM 8.5" 10-bolt with a performer RPM spreadbore intake, tuned Q-jet, recurved HEI and doug thorley headers into a 2.5 to single 3" exhaust with a magnaflow single in/dual out muffler. That was with the stock heads and cam at ~200K miles. With a federal mogul CS1014R cam it did a bit more, like 40 hp more. It popped the factory steel shim headgasket at about 210K.

Intake manifold/Headers and smog removal is worth about 40 hp and similar torque.

Same 305 in an 80s boat without emissions junk, higher rise intake manifold, and free flowing exhaust is 230 hp.
