Need to know...any differences structurally between V8's and V6's ?!?!?
Was talking it over with my dad and im plannin on selling my RS and buying another camaro to drop a crate motor in. I was plannin on buying a cheap V6 but my dad was concerned that on the V6 models that the frame might not have been built as sturdy, the brakes might not be as big, and pretty much everything about the chassis isn't as strong as is on the V8 models - - makes sense as you wouldnt need to beef up the structural integrity cuz the motor isnt putting out as much power. So all i need to know is if the body/chassis are the same on V6's and V8's, and if not, what exactly is different between the models (also...any difference between RS's and IROC's ??)
TIA

Somethign you might wanna consider, if you buy a v6 and drop a 350 in it, you will ned to replace the trany right away and supension cuase the v6 car wasn't designed for the power or torque output of the 350.
If you want, I'd find myself a cheap 305 Iroc or z28.

never thought about this but i belive that there the same, the main thing is when the suspenssion is different and also you would have to change the transmission too, lots of fun, proly would want to change the speedo too. too much stuff. i would just say get one with a lower v8 such as the lo3

thanks for the info...
thats what i was figuring - now i just gotta call around and find a thirdgen in good condition - - i'd drop the crate motor in mine and sell my current motor but the body is pretty rusted out (floor pans especially) so i gotta find one.... anyone in michigan that knows of any cheap thirdgens for sale?? ...or, anyone have any suggestions for any other relatively new cars ('85+) that i could drop a 350 in relatively easily (i.e., no modifications to get it to fit..) either chevy or dodge, i really dont care (no ford tho, lol) i'd like to stay w/ a thidgen camaro (love the aggressive look) but if i get desperate im willing to sacrifice.
thanks
