I removed the brake booster and master cylinder. I'm putting 4th gen parts in (including an LS1 eventually)

Re: what did you do to your thirdgen today?
I built a hatch release switch out of two broken ones.
This one came in my 92. Someone must have tried to remove it by prying. Third time's the charm, right?
It was also so brittle, I cracked it apart trying to unplug the wires.
This one came from an 88-ish in a junkyard...
...and it was real grubby.
The switch "slider" goes in first, with a spring above it to return it to "Off" when you let go.
Then the little copper plate fits over the two springs to make the connection. Note that the circuit board has to be oriented so that only two of the four contacts are touching the copper plate.
Then the circuit board snaps in. Then when you push the switch, all four copper contacts touch the copper plate. (The switch is turned around upside-down from the previous pic.)
The final answer.
You might be able to see that the "trigger" part doesn't quite lay flush on the surface of the switch body. That's because I didn't disassemble it carefully enough, and one of the two clips broke off to snap it in place. It works, though, so maybe I'll 3D-print another one someday.

Re: what did you do to your thirdgen today?
Last night I ground part of the flange off the right front strut where it was touching the rim after I got the front aligned. Also found and reconnected the wire to the sender for the temp gauge. I recently dragged this car out of a 10 year storage, and I'm fixing it to daily in dry weather.
Other stuff I've done in the last few months.
Added a ported the Hiflow base, and plenum.
Added AS&M runners.
Added L98 type cam new chain & gears.
New tie rods, idler arm, drag link.
New Michelins on the back. Fronts are back ordered.
LED instrument lights.
New battery.
Changed out all the sensors.
Took off some of the A.I.R. stuff
Couple of oil changes.
Started stripping and working up for paint.
I've been driving it a lot, but this morning it wouldn't hit a damn lick. I'm afraid it's going to be the fuel pump.

Door refurbished. New weatherstrip, dynamat, clean-up, window adjusted, panel fixed and cleaned. Shuts and sounds like new.

Re: what did you do to your thirdgen today?
Finished installing my Old School Alpine CDA-7977 into my T/A. May not seem like much of an achievement, but the deck is like an octopus, 3 sets of rca cables, 4V preout box, AI Net cable + additional cabling for the functional gain switch (think bass ****)… it gets tight in there.

That is a tight area for sure. I put a later model Delco CD radio in my 88 and it bottomed out on an air duct in the back. If it had the little cooling fan it wouldn't have fit at all. That Alpine is good stuff.

Re: what did you do to your thirdgen today?
It's a line driver, boosts the deck signal up to 8V - Phoenix Gold PLD-1.
I'm running the signal from the deck, to the line driver, to the gain slider, to the subwoofer amp - effectively making the gain switch a "bass ****".
AudioControl has a line driver built into most of their product line, does nothing but good things. I'd look at their products closely if your considering adding an amp to your stock setup.

Re: what did you do to your thirdgen today?
still running them today. The MPS-2240 is a factory modded sponsored competition amp - note the passive filters on the line inputs and the additional board that needs all that high preout voltage to make 24W x 2 on my subs (honest!) The MS 275 is garden variety, but still one of the best sounding amps of the era.

Got a "1LE" radio delete off ebay. No part number on it and the molding is slightly wonky, I suspect it's a reproduction but it looks pretty good still. Better than an empty hole to drop things into.

Re: what did you do to your thirdgen today?
Yesterday I got the IROC running....again. Getting a car sorted out after 10 years of storage is like sorting out a brand new build except all the parts are old and used. Changed the TPI regulator, cleaned and tested the injectors, and a bunch of little stuff, and it's running again.
Also started separating the pad from the tonneau cover. Part of getting the car ready for paint.

This one might not be to everyone's taste but after having a pizza delivery kid on a push bike almost run into my open door in a dark street recently I decided to add some courtesy lights to the doors. Went with some repro Pontiac arrow rear running lights for a 67 bird.

Re: what did you do to your thirdgen today?
I got a little stupid in the snow. A little is all it takes.
Hmmm... This one’s a head-scratcher.
Reeling her in...
I scraped off some more of PO's white primer, broke my 30-year-old plastic headlight-aiming nut, cracked some mounts around the headlight bucket, cracked another split in my chin, cracked my rocker gfx, and bent both fenders.
After two new tires, she still rides fine, but steering seemed a little mushy. My mechanic ended up replacing shocks, struts, tie rods, Pitman & idler. Body & paint will be another year.

Re: what did you do to your thirdgen today?
I took advantage of my lack of an engine and I took out the heater core. I almost got the replacement in, but it got late. Plus the replacement is SLIGHTLY different... anyway, It looks like I am replacing it just in time as it's starting to leak (I hadn't noticed yet) I had to take my dash top off to get to that stupid top bolt. oh well.

Re: what did you do to your thirdgen today?
Flushed the brake master cylinder and bled brake lines on my 89 Iroc 67000 miles... I doubt the fluid had ever been flushed...Fifty plus years I have worked on my cars this is the first time I have ever flushed a brake master cylinder...Must say the fluid needed to be changed it was dark looking...The brake fluid in the brake master cylinder looks so clear and the brakes work great...the old brake fluid looked water looking...easy job to flush and bleed brakes...would highly recommend flushing the brakes and putting in new fluid...

Re: what did you do to your thirdgen today?
Well yesterday I finished up installing a Delphi fuel pump. Just in case anyone wants to know it is super quiet compared to the Airtex pump that as in it previously.
Today, I reinstalled my refurbished radio with aux Jack. Installing the aux jack in the panel on the passenger side.

Cleaned out the nasty old coolant in the reservoir and cleaned the reservoir, I should have done this before yesterday but the fact the coolant looked good/clean in the radiator and that I probably drained and filled the coolant twice in the past 3 years while doing other maintenance I just overlooked it.
Nasty stuff that was on the bottom of the coolant reservoir.
Cleaned tank and fresh coolant.

Water pump pulley started grinding a few days ago. Took care of that with a generic auto parts unit. It works.

Tank looks new! How did you get it like that? How bad was it before cleaning?

Both inside and out were dirty before, I was stunned how well the Dawn worked. The tank looked almost new on the inside and the outside was much better than before.

Cut up some furnace duct to help hold up the hood insulation. It was sagging a lot.
