How much should it cost to get block stroked????
I already have a 350 bored out .030" over with the entire rotating assembly. Do I need anything else besides a crankshaft? Do I have to get the block cut so that the throws on the crank have clearance? How much should all this cost? Thanks.

Ive never built a storker, but you will need pistons for the 383, the 350 pistons will not work.
you will need the stroker crank.
I think, but am not certain, that the block should be ok. I think you can get away with grinding a little bit on a couple of the rods, but I dont remember which ones they are.

Thanks for the replies. Since I am starting with a 355, what cubic inch sizes can I go to? (e.g. you can turn a 350 into a 383) I thought you could reuse the same rods and pistons and the new crank would just give you the higher displacement. Thanks again.

they will turn the mains down on the crank to fit the 350 block, you can use the stock 350 rods, or go with the 400 5.5's or aftermarket 6.0 . i have a uncut 383 setup for sale and i am also in the chicagoland area (400 crank, balencer and flex plate all needed to make a 383) you can have it for 300$ only other options are going $$$ with aftermarket stuff.

The scat stroker cranks arent all that expensive, especially when you throw in the cost of machining the 400 crank and take into account the 400 crank will be used. Not to mention the adapter you would need if you want to put it in an 86 or newer block.
If you were to reuse the pistons, you cant reuse the rods, they would need to be shorter. If you reuse the rods, you need different pistons.
Since your 350 is .030 over, that would make a 383 with the 400's stroke. I dont know what it would cost to have someone else do the clearancing, but 300 bucks doesnt seem unrealistic. I think more than 5-600 would probably be a bit high.
