Best cam for 1983 z28
Hi i was wondering what is the best cam that i can run with stock heads on a 305 with headers 4 barrel edelbrock carb with a edelbrock performer intake stock gears in the rear

Summit K1102 is decent. K1103 even better and I ran it on stock LG4 heads but it is borderline and wouldn't hurt to get a new set of springs if u use the K1103.

If staying with stock gears and TC, the K1102 will feel better and be quicker. I'd replace the valvesprings regardless. Get rid of the rotators.

Here are some cheap springs that work well with mild flat tappet cams such as the K1102: http://www.summitracing.com/parts/cca-979-12/overview/
What I've done is just pull the retainers and springs from a junkyard Vortec engine (doesn't matter how many miles they have on them; they'll be fine for a mild flat tappet).
Edit: or for that matter, retainers and springs from any junkyard SBC that came with a roller cam.
