I bought the Fragola socketless fittings and hose. I knew it would be hard to assemble, but I had no idea it would be this hard. I was lifting my 200lb body off the floor I was pushing so hard to get these together. They make tools but none have above average reviews unless you want to spend $250 or more for professional tools and I wasn't going to do that to install 6 fittings. I finally found a way to make it happen, but I want you to know I tried a heat gun, boiling water, oil, bench vise, wood clamps, C-clamps, and a few curse words but still couldn't get that hose on far enough to bottom out on the collar.
So I bought a clearance aisle flaring tool and a Harbor Freight 1/2 ton Arbor Press. Instead of using oil, I found a plumber's forum that said to spit on it. I felt really stupid trying it, but that worked better than any oil! (stop laughing). Here's a picture of how it worked. I used the lip on the side of the angle fitting to push it together so it was a little harder than the straight fitting, but it still slid into the hose a lot easier than anything else I tried. There's not a lot on the internet about how to get these fittings together easily, so hopefully this helps someone.
