cam choice
I have a 69 chevelle with a 87 5.7 maf computer and a hsr intake and headers. My current 5.7 block cracked looking to replace with iron head 383 with 72cc 1.94 heads around 9.8 comp WHAT cam would work best for a weekend warrior car and it is a a/c disc brake car.

What factory castings? Guess it dont matter they all were pretty crappy heads.
I guess you wouldnt want to go much over a comp xe268 or similar from howards/crane/lunati etc. they dont support much rpm as cast so this range of cam size would work good imo. 224 deg at .050 range. Roller or flat tappet, depending
