37 or 45 degree flare for this adapter

I want to cut my stock 3/8" and 5/16" fuel lines near the transmission and convert it to 6AN line there. I'm looking at these adapters to use:

http://www.jegs.com/i/Earls/361/9919...rentProductId=

Question is, do I flare the stock lines with double 37 or double 45 degree for these adapters? I was thinking 45, but I can't find this info anywhere.

89...That's a 37 degree AN Flare. I use em all the time in Aerospace. Single 37 degree flare for your tubing. Use a #6 B-Nut and sleeve and your in.

Check out Allen Aircraft in North Hollywood. They have EVERY fitting under the sun.

So you are saying the adapter I posted is meant to mate with a 37 degree flare? I was unsure about this because this is the adapter you use to mate up with your stock hydraulic lines and I thought they were all SAE 45 degree.

It depends on the adapter. If you ask them for a 37, flare your line to that. If it's normally a 45 (and I am not sure on that) use a 45.

I think I just wasted your time...........sorry.

Re: 37 or 45 degree flare for this adapter

Thanks, I found this helpful picture. I bought a 45 degree double flare tool for $80 and will be using the Earls adapters to go to AN fittings.

I use one of these to make my 37* flares. Tool #377. It's not a cheap tool but even a blind person could make a perfect 37* flare with this tool.

Re: 37 or 45 degree flare for this adapter

I'm curious, why don't you just use AN line for the whole thing?
