350 valves and springs?

Im rebuilding an 82 c30 350 block and im wantijg to install new valve springs and valves. Im not sure what snd where to buy. The valves I believe are 1.94 and 1.60s? Theyre in a set of 487 heads. Help or suggestions please. On my l31 I reused the valves and lapped them and used alex springs but never rebuilt a motor from stratch before.

IIRC,the 487 heads came w/ either 2.02/1.60 or 1.94/1.50 valves,so,you mite wanna measure to see what you have.Heads made after 74 are thinner & prone to cracking,so,having them magged befor dumping any money in them would be smart. As for springs, use whatever brand you prefer w/ the proper specs for the cam being used.

Summit,Jeg's, any of the big parts houses will have a wide assortment of valves. You just need to be sure of what you actually have before ordering. To be honest,by the time you buy valves, springs,& rework those, you'll be close to the price of a better set.Lots of times, you can keep a ck @ local machine shops & pick up a set good rebuilt heads that someone didn't pay for.
