Light light blue smoke
Wats going on fellas. The question i got pertains to having light blue smoke come out the back. Even when its hot and cold. Its like a stream.I ran a compression test on the cylinders. And all 8 had very good compression.. Each one was under 15% of each other. And from that i ruled out my piston rings. From what im thinking. I believe its the valve stems.. But would those still stream out blue smoke even when the car is at temp.. If not. Do you guys no any other reason this could occur.
"things to know.."
(oil level drops slowly)
(and i have replaced pcv valve)

so it smokes all the time? Normally valve seals only cause it to smoke at start up. Hot or Cold. Just burns what leaked while the engine was off. But if your seals are bad enough then yes, it could smoke all the time. My stab in the sorta dark is your valve seals are leaking bad.

did you do a leakdown test yet? What about checking for blown head gasket with the tester that you put in your raidiator to test it i forget what you call the tool though. Or it's a bad valve seal like alice said.

Alright. Yeah i think am going to lean more into doing the valve seals.. In this situation. I dont think it would be a head gasket because of the fact that usally during the compression test ud find 2 cylinders next to each other with a large loss of pressure.

ya, and i think it's white smoke usually if it's a blown head gasket i was just saying though a leak down comp test will tell you the truth on that though, anyways replace the valve seal and if it doesnt stop then i would lean towards head gasket lol. Also you said oil level drops slowly so obviously it's burning oil or you have a leak somwhere.

Re: Light light blue smoke
So. today i ran a leak down test on the engine. I wanted to get a second view on wether the seals and the rings were good. Befored id buy the valve stem seals. Check this. I got for the #1 cyl (5%), #8 cyl (8%), #4 cyl (5%), #3 cyl (6%), #6 cyl (5%), #5 cyl (6%), #7 cyl (10%), #2 cyl (4%). Personally im pretty confused right now. My leak down test was great. my compression test was great. I mean what else could it be. Intake manifold ?. I'll tell you this. when idle, the iroc now, shes up there at 1500. It use to when it was warmed up. it would drop down to specs. which was 750. .. Also my spark plugs aren't even black, they look normal... i dont why the **** i got a stream of smoke coming out the tail.
