I have no experience with this at all and I want to convert from The stock intake over to this one I've bought. I basically just need someone to tell me how to go about doing it and if I need to buy anything else for it. Thanks.. I believe its the tbi.. I bought the 1208 proflow 10" edelbrock filter

Re: help converting air filter 91 firebird 305

It looks like it has a flat base, so it should drop right on.
Worst case, you might have to get a spacer ring to raise it up enough to clear the linkage.

Re: help converting air filter 91 firebird 305

You can plug off the small vacuum line.
The large hose coming out of the valve cover can be routed into the bottom of the new air cleaner(kind of a pain), or replaced with your fancy breather.
You can just leave the heat riser on the manifold open.
I'm not sure on that electrical connection. My TBI truck does not have any electrical going into the air cleaner.

That connection goes to the intake air temp sensor, just let that sensro hang somewhere close to the air intake.

Tha k you tons. My final question would be.. the large hose that I can replace with the breather.. is it an option to make that hole the oil cap and on the other cover where the oil cap is cirrently make that the breather? Is that safe to do? Thanks again
