L98 heads - 083 vs 217 SAME but DIFFERENT?

So, last November I ran into some knocking issues. I finally tore into the engine this weekend. I was under the impression my car was bone stock before I got it. It is an 89 with no 9th injector, first clue, then when I took the valve covers off I checked the heads (because I am putting a temporary 350 in) thinking I would see 083 heads. Wrong again, 217 heads. So this was a crate motor I assume... All the specs I have seen they look identical except I have hear "marine" thrown around.
Now today I saw someone who had posted a set of these heads for sale on TGO and in the listing it states - Heads are the L98 083 Heads used on MerCruiser 350 Mag engines, difference between heads is the exhaust valves are iconel to withstand heat from high RPM use of Marine engines.

Is this true? I was kicking around new cam but that entails springs, Roller Rockers and pushrods but the more research I do, every action has a reaction and MemCal needs re-programmed and the list just goes on. I lowered my car, now I need an adjustable Torque Arm, I put in 24lb injectors I need to reprogram MemCal.

So I do tons or research here on TGO. I want to build a lightly modified motor. IE - want it to sound good (not 100% stock) but I am not going racing. I want just a little off stock sound but at this moment I am not going to put on aluminum heads, not going superam or stealth ram.
Are these heads 217 heads good or are 083's better? I think from all the research I have done I can add 1.6 RR and put back in the cam I currently have (not 100% stock but unknown cam until I pull it out) and still be a street car/driver. Is this true?
I have a running low mileage 350 out of a 92 Chevy Van. I am going to use the van short block, add new oil pump and new timing chain. Out of the current motor in the Camaro I will switch the cam, my top end including TPI (with 24lb injectors), heads (possibly add 1.6 RR) and oil pan. Will there be anything else I need to do for temporary use of the Camaro until I build a complete new engine?

I was going to bump this BUT I found a great link off here - had I seen this in the past, I don't think I would have asked so many questions - Why isn't this easier to find?

I just found this one too - why haven't I seen these before? I feel like Peter Griffin
