350 roller/vortec heads/xr270 mpg

Hey guys im about to start a new project. This will be for a daily driver. A 1996 roller block 350, carb 600 cfm, with vortec heads modified for higher lift, electric water pump, shorty headers for clearance, with a xr270 cam. Compression is 9:6:1. I want to run 87 octane without any problems. Im still debating in using a th350 or 700r4 This will be going into 86 camaro with 3:42 gears. Are any of you guys running this combo? I want to know what your mpg, driveability, power, likes and dislikes.

Not that combo exactly however my Vortec headed 350 with an XR276HR cam, 670 vac sec Holley,a 700R4 and 3.70 gears netted 22+ mpg on the hiway.
Tuning was done via a wide band O2 sensor with hi-way AFRs in 15-16:1 range.
10:1 static compression ratio with the short cam required premium fuel.
