350 into sn 86 iroc
My son picked up a fresh 350 w/4bolt mains,L2304 trw pistons, Crower 00244 cam, and 462624 heads. I'm not sure how we should go about this. Would it be best to get rid of the tpi and go with an aluminium intake and carb? If so can I still use the electric fuel pump? Can I still use the stock distributor? Any advice would be much appreciated.
Thanks, Tim

They are the only differences between a 305 and a 350 TPI
Yes but you need a regulator to drop the pressure down to suit the carb
No , is computer controlled
Need a reg SBC HEI dist with vac advance
If you go carb and have a auto then you need some means of locking the convertor ( is normally done by the computer which you delete with a carb )

Also if you remove the TPI system and bolt it onto the new block, you may run into idling issues depending on the cam. Im not knowledgeable on camshafts, other than you need to verify if the ca is "computer controlled". Computer controlled means that the cam is within specs of the ECM (Electronic Computer Module). The good thing is that since you have an 86, then the TPI system you have is a MAF. With a MAF system, it can make slight adjustments with different cams. But definitely investigate on that cam that is in the proposed block.

Money gouging. They know that we are gonna want the parts they sell. So they'll advertise at whatever price they want. Call summit racing and tell them your engine and blah blah blah. Mention tuned port injection and "computer controlled " and they will recommend you a computer controlled comp cam. Last I checked it was like $250 for the highest lift cam for our engine/heads.
