Best thing to clean the inside of an engine with.
Ive recently took the engine apart, the cam and crank is still in there though.. What would be the best thing to spray it down and clean it up with.
Someone said mineral spirits? I was thinking more of a lube type thing like PB blaster or that deep creep stuff from sea foam.. the sea foam stuff seems better because it says its for lubricating metal parts, although im not looking for a lubrication im looking for something to clean the possible dirt away.
Someone can help, that would be great!.. thanks.

Kerosene and mineral spirits work about the same, kerosene is cheaper mineral spirits does'nt smell as bad. I've had pretty good luck with Gunk degreaser in spray cans but it gets kind of pricey. Naptha probably works the best but it's hard to find in small quantities. I use kerosene.

buy a larger size plastic storage container, and get 5 gallons of diesel fuel, clean all thread holes with a cleaning tap, not a cutting tap.

AFTER YOU CAREFULLY mark each connecting rod and main cap , and its location and stamp rod and rod cap , with a stamp set ,dissemble the components and use a stiff brush set, along with the fuel splashed as needed in the block after placing it in the container

http://www.harborfreight.com/6-piece...set-93610.html
disassemble the block to the point all freeze plugs and oil passage plugs are removed and get fresh cam bearings, obviously once its clean you paint all the non machined surfaces and cover the machined surfaces with oil, place the clean block in a sealed engine storage bag, place the crank and rods etc. after cleaning them in a large plastic storage container it can be used to further protect the components if stored

All you would be doing is running the gunk into the areas of the engine where it shouldn't be.

coin op car wash.. select the "engine degreaser" option.. no kidding.. did it a few times and those engines lived to take abuse later on.. i did it on complete long blocks that had the tins (oil pan, timing cover, valve covers) and intake removed.. you just gotta make sure you blow everything out really good and get a protective layer of WD40 and a plastic garbage bag on everything if it isn't going back together right away.
i'd probably at least pull the cam out, but the crank is only held in with a few bolts at this point, too..
