would these parts match well?
My current idea/plan for the engine.
Its a L31 880 block with 906 heads
170cc intake 1.94/1.50 valves 64cc chamber. I'm thinking just add CompCams 26918CS beehive springs and call them good.
Block will need bored, I'm guessin around .030 and clearenced deck. KB flat tops 9902-HC with 2 valve reliefs 1.565 compression distance. +5cc vol.
Howards Cams 180235-10
.266/.270
@.050 .213/.217
With 1.5 rocker ratio .485/.495
LSA 110 Intake Centerline 106
Pro Products PFS-52006 intake, dual plane, nothing fancy but its polished so pretty. With the ol 1976 Carter Q-Jet on top.
Most likely flow-tech headers. So does it sound well matched? Any educated guesses on power? I'd like to see somethin like 300hp @4800 rpm and maybe like 330tq @3200rpm

Re: would these parts match well?
So I downloaded a virtual dyno. Put the info in as best I could, this is what it reads...
CID-355
BHP-385
RWHP-318 @ 5780 RPM
TQ-452 @ 3350 RPM
CFM USEAGE- 582
COMPRESSION 11.5:1
TRACTION LOSS 1ST GEAR- 45.4%
OCTANE-95
1/4 MILE- 13.6 @ 105
VOLUME EFFICIENCY- 97.9%
Sounds too good.

Re: would these parts match well?
Program's wrong, that combo won't make peak HP at 5800. Maybe 5400 at best. Actual static compression should be more like 10.5:1 with that combo. That intake doesn't flow as well as your heads, so why combine them? Cam needs more split for un-ported Vortecs to really shine. You'd get better results from the ZZ4 cam. Combine that with a Weiand 8151 intake, you should see 390 HP and well over 400 TQ at the crankshaft, shift at 5600.

Re: would these parts match well?
I looked at the ZZ4 cam, I was leaning towards the Howards because it listed a lower RPM range (1300-4800) and according to Howards website offered a slightly more lopey idle. Where as the ZZ4 desription states a good idle and powerband of I think 1500-5000. I figured the intake was crap. Its just so tempting, being all polished for under $200 but I guess you get what you pay for. I figured the program was off though.
