Car Won't Start after Washing down engine
Just a basic rundown. I have a '91 Camaro RS that just came back from the body shop. My 383 was covered badly in paint dust and dirt so this past weekend I took a bucket of water and a sponge and started cleaning all the upper areas of the motor that was covered in paint dust. Parts included the heads, intake manifold, air cleaner lid, and I also squeezed some water out of the sponge down the side of the engine to get all the crap dust off my nice headers. I also took the sponge and just went over the tops of hoses and other pieces etc. to get all the red paint dust off. Anyways, No the car won't start. It will crank without issue but won't start. It's been 3 days now since I washed off the motor and surrounding areas so I know there's no water anywhere the I could see. Is there some place I should check for water that's maybe causing this issue? I'm not really sure what to do as I'm no mechanic and really don't want to call a tow truck to pull this car out of my garage and take to someone. I've already got enough money stuck in this thing.......Anyways, Any help would be great!

I would start taking connectors off and looking for water. Could have gotten some in the coolant temp sensor when you poured water down the side causing it not to start if its shorting.

Sensors, in general, won't cause a no-start condition. A runs-like-crap, sure; a no-start, no.
It's at least 99.9999% certain that it's due to water getting into the distributor. Take off the dist cap, turn it upside down, and let the whole thing dry out for a few hours.

I will check the distributor cap when I get home from work. The interesting thing about that is, I never cleaned on or around the distributor so I'm kinda doubting that one but will look for sure.

check to see if you have spark. Maybe one of you connections to the coil is off or loose.
