Ground wires getting hot and melting! Please help :/
Okay guys, here is the problem. My ground wire coming from the firewall to the block is getting hot and burning. I have it bolted down to the chrome distributor hold down could that be the problem? also the small black ground running from the negative battery cable to the fender is getting hot and melting. I can't figure it out Someone please help. I had to lengthen the starter wires to get them away from the headers, could I have one of them wires ran wrong?? Just please someone help me :/

sounds like the negative battery cable is not making
good connection to the block, forcing the current to
go through the body grounds(they are only getting hot
during cranking right?)

Yes. the big cable should go to the head or alt or starter bolt.
the little wire on back of your motor also needs to be to the head and firewall.
