i baught a old crower cam for $15 its stamped crower 3067 in the back. i did some research and the closest i got was 03067 and its the v6 cam but mine has 16 lobes so its definetly for a small block and i did some more research and found a guy looking for a 80s cam spec's and called and crower said they lost there records in a fire and another said he called and they said they don't keep records further than 15 yrs. anyone recognize this v8 part number crower 3067? ill post a pic later

is there a way to tell a hydraulic flat tappet cam from a solid flat tappet cam by looking at the lobes

Does it say CNC anywhere on the cam? And that's a flat tappet cam.

besides the major cleanup that will be needed with that
cam,a flat-tappet cam that has run long enough to have
"broken in"will be risky to use with new lifters-lifters
and cam lobes wear to a specific pattern when they
"break in"and if new ones are installed and run on a
broken in cam,rapid wear and oil contamination with
metal particles is the usual result.

thats true and i think its worn cause the lobes look smoothed over so I'm gonna give it back 2 him but i think my pic is making the cam look worse than it really is this only took me 5 min

It cleaned up really well! If it doesn't workout summit has a line of cams for around $75, or cam and lifters for $100. And fwiw, that looks like a new cam compared to the one I pulled out of mine.

Might be clean but doesn't mean it should be used. That cam is wiped out - the 3rd lobe from the front of the pic is rounded off - see how it's not as 'pointy' as the others. Use it to go beat the guy over the head.
