Okay I get that a splayed 4 bolt is a lot better than a stock 4 bolt but isn't a stock 4 bolt still a little bit better than a stock 2 bolt?

I'm sure you did, but I felt the need to elaborate so some of the other folks didn't misunderstand the intent of your post by thinking you were substantiating their opinion that 4 bolt mains contributed to an engine's ability to turn high rpms.
yes, it's somewhat better. Though it does nothing for higher rpm capability, it does strengthen the bottom end and help leep the caps from walking. The benefit is fairly minor though, and once you start getting to power levels that could stress a 2 bolt block, it's probably time to start considering splayed caps.

They're not better in any way that matters enough to get excited about.

Thats what I want to do to mine. Looking to upgrade to LS in the future. For now just run the numbers stamped into the block by the front passenger side head.

Yeah I wouldn't go out of my way to find one, but I am believe I have one cause I looked up the heads #s and it says its for a 350 truck.

All that means if that your heads are garbage. It doesn't say anything about what might be inside the oil pan.
