Automotive Dictionary
OK,I was not sure where to post this or even if I should.I have never seen any thing as in depth as this concerning automotive definitions. It is more than abbreviations as you advance through the alphabet concerning a part or definition of what something is or is related to.I thought some one might want to add this link to there favorites or a shortcut on there desktop.

Re: Automotive Dictionary
I think the worst part of that is the manufactures keep changing the acronyms or calling the parts something else.
What used to be called a MAT (Manifold Air Temp) is now being called a IMT (Intake Manifold Temp). Both are measuring the air temp inside the manifold so it's not something new. Just a new name. The change is probably because MAT and MAP are too easy to hear wrong.
Other things have different names for the same thing by different manufactures. The 6.0L powerstroke diesel in Ford trucks is made by International. The computer that controls the injectors in the International trucks is called an IDM (Injector Drive Module) by International. It's the exact same part and it even has the International part number on it but Ford calls it a FICM (Fuel Injector Control Module) in their trucks. Go to Ford and ask for an IDM and they give you a strange look.
How about the third gen's panhard bar? It's also called a track bar plus I think one or two other names depending on the application.
