vats with remote start problem??
I have a 91z with a l98 auto with a remote start. I have been having this random won't start problem. It will crank over but won't start. Sometimes it will start the next day or next week. It does not matter if I use the remote start or actually put the key in. I checked the resistance in my key and it seems broke. I get no reading unless I push on both sides of the key with slight pressure.
My question is if I have a remote start would my vats already be completly bypassed? Or is it possible that just the starter is bypassed.
My problem seems to be vats related.

Re: vats with remote start problem??
So I still have not figured out how the remote start is wired in, but after a month my car finally failed to start today. I have been watching my security light every time I start it, and it did not blink. So not vats related.
I decided to pull my ICM and have it checked. When I pulled my cap, it was extremly corroded on the contacts. I had the ICM checked ten times in a row at autozone. Showed it to be good everytime. So I picked up a new cap and rotor, and hopefully that was the problem. I will see in the morning. Fingers crossed.
