Does my new gas tank need rust proofing?
Does my new gas tank need to be painted, rust proofed, whatever? It's one of the Spectra ones and it's just bare metal from what I can see. Do I want or need to paint it with something before boxing it up and sending it over to the shop with the car?

Well painting it a nice coat of primer gray wouldn't hurt. I sprayed mine not too long ago, but be aware that the tank is mostly covered up by the exhaust heat shields so you don't really see the whole tank after all that work. But it's nice to know that you did it any way and that's what matters most--that you know you did it.
