Fitting at Mechanical Fuel Pump Leaking

Back story: Tired to replace the fitting and line with AN/braided line. Broke the AN fuel pump fitting. Used a NPT fitting as a stop gap; the inverted flare was a bit smaller.

Replaced that with Edelmann 721660 3/8" Tube x 3/8" inverted flare. Though I believe the fitting is tight, it weeps a bit while the car's running (nothing on the fitting or garage floor this a.m.).

Would I be better off using Dorman 785-408 3/8" inverted flare with a bit of thread sealer (the resistant to gasoline type)?

Or is there a better alternative? If so, I'm all ears.

One final question, could I have somehow mangled the pump flare, which is causing the leak?

Is there a mismatch in the threads? You can try using aviation sealant, teflon tape, ect.

You might have buggered the threads on it, could be the cause of the weeping when there is pressure on it. Like Ex-x-fire mentioned, try some teflon tape and see what that does.

No mismatch. As the Edelmann has a tube running through the nut (like OE), I doubt that a sealant would be of help. The Dorman, however, is rigid. A sealant might be useful there. With Thanksgiving behind me, I may crawl under today and see what's what.

Re: Fitting at Mechanical Fuel Pump Leaking

To update: The Dorman cured my issues (no sealant required). No leaky.
