Help, 89 v6 camaro barley starts wont stay running
NOT sure if this is right section but here goes.
Long story but I'll try to keep it short.
I have a 89 2.8l v6 MPFI camaro. Bought it almost a year ago. When i bought it the guy said it prob need new fuel pump and tank cleaned out, but he just got it so didn't really look at it.
Anyway I have replaced the fuel filter, fuel pump relay, fuel pump, sending unit and fuel tank (because the one is it was nasty) and also cleaned the fuel lines with compressed air as best as I could. I have also replaced spark plugs, spark plug wires, and battery. Car will start sometimes but will never stay running unless I keep hitting the gas but even then it runs like sh** and will just cut off if I don't do anything. It will stay running with ether/starting fluid also, video here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EEtJ7M8SaSI.
Fuel pressure holds right around 40psi
The weird thing is when i can keep it running for a couple secs the rpms are at 7000.. something is messed up there, video here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IIknVbdHsYo. The SES/CEL was throwing code 34 having to do with the MAF. I messed with the intake and unplugged the MAF then turned the key and now no code is showing? Put the MAF back in, still no code. Let is sit for a while and still no code, unplugged battery and still no code. Tried starting several times and tried to keep it running but still not showing any code now. Although the light is CEL light is still on, it will only show 12 and not 34 like it was before. I'm not sure what to do next or why its not running . Any help is appreciated, thanks.

Looks like something is really wrong with the tach signal coming out of the distributor.
The ECM needs the tach signal to fire the injectors. If it's seeing what the tachometer is seeing, I can understand why it's going nuts.
Check pickup and module in distributor and related wiring.
