1986 2.8l engine dies while turning right

Hello, I just bought a 1984 (posted as wrong year) camaro 2.8l v6 (72,000 original miles) with intentions of converting to a 305 v8 in the next month or so. I have been driving the car as is for a few weeks fixing all the little issues as they come up, but this one has me stumped!

When i turn the wheel to the right the engine dies. It is usually only when the car is in motion, but it doesnt have to be very fast. Doing a 3 point backup/turn will cause it to stumble. Going at 25-35mph around a corner will cause it to die almost without fail.

I noticed the 700r4 leaks and i can not keep fluid in it. Could this cause an issue like this? Someone said it could be fuel related.

I want to get this fixed either before or during the engine swap.

Someone else suggested a major vaccuum leak? There are a few smog vaccuum lines disconnected (plugged with a screw), all emissions parts are still there as far as i can tell, and the alternator is whining (but still charging at 14.4v).

My girlfriend said it just wants to be a nascar No right turns!

Any ideas guys?
