Why? You're saving maybe 5 pounds, you're gaining 0 HP, and you're rendering the car technically illegal. But removing it does reduce clutter a bit.

From what I understood it reduces power, whether that is true or not I have no idea.

is it worth it is a very loaded question. If you are just looking at a hunk of aluminum and a wheel then heck no it isn't worth $50.

But, what Summit knows is that if you remove the AIR pump, you then need a different serpentine belt which is anywhere form $35-$45 for the belt. You also must re-route your belt.

So, they figure that you would spend $50 to retain your stock belt and stock routing of said belt.
