Clutch assembly - slave/master
Upon installing a new engine in my 87, I seemed to have busted the clutch hose and slave cylinder, Now I've replaced the cylinder, however I can not find a hose? The slave is not threaded and I can't seem to find any hose that can stand up to break fluid short of replacing the whole master/slave assembly for ungodly amounts of money. Anyone have any troubles with this? The factory hose feels almost like hard plastic, probably just old. Beyond fixing.
Any thoughts? I just got my car firing and idling yesterday. Get this done and im almost on the road!
Thanks for ANY input you give me! In return I promise to supply pictures. ^.^

If you have a NAPA nearby they can probably make you a new one if they don't carry a replacement.

Yeah I have talked with them. For about 2 hours lol. For them to help me any further I have to being in my new slave cylinder that is already installed. Even though I bought it from them they cant seem to see the size of the fitting from their screen. Yeah maybe tomorrow I'll take it out and bring it down.

Re: Clutch assembly - slave/master
Turns out NAPA can not do anything for me, nor can the chevrolet dealer. Apparently that hose is a combined part with the slave in terms of selling. I called a local hose specialty shop, they said my best bet was to pull one off of a Camaro in a junk yard.
Has anyone had any problems finding a replacement hose from the slave to their resevior?
Also, I have pictures =]]

The first image is my slave showing the metal nipple with the ridges where you shove the hose onto. The second image is the hose we tried but it couldn't handle the pressure before breaking or splitting. Anyone have any ideas? or advice? The top connection is the same as the slave cylinder, both need to be pushed on then clamped. By something tight.
I was thinking on going to the junk yard and pulling out the pins on the fittings as you can see in the picture then taking home the complete tube and just putting them in where mine are. Not sure how well that will work though.

Re: Clutch assembly - slave/master
---Solved!---
Upon further searching I ran across this post.
https://www.thirdgen.org/forums/tran...utch-line.html
I decided to buy the fittings from edlebrock that takes the place of my nipple fittings and allows me to use a threaded line! the fittings are fairly cheap and the 18 inch braided line isnt too expensive either, this way I upgrade from plastic and don't have to replace the whole assembly! IF anyone has the same problem look at this post.
