VATS

i have a 91 rs 305 auto... i have a random problem where the car will not start. no power to the starter, doesnt click or turn. my friend had the same problem and he by passed the relay on the driver side kick panel. i usually wait 5mins and bam it works. its just frustrating when i miss 10 mins of my lunch time at work to wait for it...doesnt help i work at a ford dealer hahaha. other times it starts fine, then randomly nothing at all....

any suggestions guys!!!

Re: VATS

If it is vats. the security light will come on and stay on when you turn the key on. Bypassing the start emable relay will get the engine to turn but if it's a vats problem it still wont start due to vats dissables the fuel injectors also.
Just find the value of your resister on your key, solder in some resisters that equil that value on the 2 white wires(wraped togeather in orange wire) coming out of you steering column. NOTE* if you cut the wires after the connector(furthest from steering column) then you can simply unplug the resistors and no one can start your car.
Also if the ICM in the dizzy is going bad, this will also cause the security light to come on. Not sure why but it happened to me. after I replaced it I haven't had a problem with vats. and My car was doing to same thing yours is.
