I've got a carb converted L31 Vortec 350 and would like to put an LT4 hot cam in it while its out of the car. What stall and gearing would work well for this cam? Currently the car has an open diff 3.08 rear and stock stall. I also have a 4th gen limited slip rear end with 2.74 gears sitting on the shop floor.

 

At least a 3.42:1 with at least a 2000 stall, but the same investment should get you 3.73:1 and 2500.

 

I used a 3.27 and a 2500 and worked well

 

Im running 3.73 with about 2200.

 

i ran 3.27 and a ten inch 3000 stall with my hotcam.... but i have 3.42 gears now and want to switch to a vigilante 2800 stall.....
