whats the highest rpm full bolt on l98
i might need to play with the goveners in my 700r4 next spring. Whats the highest rpm i can shift at with a full bolt on l98?
At the moment i have a hsr, cai, headers, 3" flowmaster, msd, afpr, pcm for less tune, 3:73, most free mods. Another question, would you guys suggest a set of 1.6rr to make a few extra hp? typically what should a car like this be shifting at. im thinking no more than 5300rpms.
ive been reading about bolt on l98s trying to hit high 12s makes me think after the following i should be low 13s with some nitto drags 12s might be possible.

Stall speed depends on the setup. You want maximum torque and still be able to hook if it's a drag strip application. For street cruising my stock 350 responded very well to my 2400 RPM 9.5" converter. Stall flash is depended on the motor output. A converter will obviously flash higher behind a BBC than a 305 due to extra torque.
My experience has been stock TPIs are out of there power range by or at 5000 RPM. Since you have a stealth ram yours might breathe better.
Either way I would throw it on the dyno and check it out.
