how to tell motor size
Hey i was wondering how to find out motor size...the guy i bought it from i think wad full of ****...i thought that i read some where that it was stamped on the bottom of the block on drivers side but all i saw a metal plate from some motor company

It's on the top of the block - nearly impossible to see - need a small mirror, a brush on a handle (like a toilet brush) to scrape/clean off area, maybe a cleaner, a flashlight, and alot of patience, It's at the back of the driver side head - 6 or 7 digit number. Sometimes you'll see "5.0" or "5.7" stamped on blocks - 5.0=305, 5.7=350

It's so easy to tell someone it's a 350 when it's really a 305 since all SBC engines look the same.

I finally got time to check this out today and i stuck the mirror in there and tried to find it for about 10 min and came up with nothing i even stuck my hand in there to feel around and see if i could feel the numbers and still came up with nothing...Ill check tommorow and see if its where torque_is_good says he found his
