Few potential problems/questions.

First off, I've been looking around these forums for quite sometime, but had never joined because I didn't have a third gen.

..until now

I bought a '91 RS Camaro, with a L98 5.7L 350 V8 about a month back, and was recently able to start driving it due to some problems off the bat.

After doing research, I had realized that in '91, the RS only came with the LH0 3.1 191 V6 or the LO3 5.0 305 V8. So naturally I was very concerned but intrigued.
I found the factory build sheet and saw that it was one of the RS's with the 'B4C' police packages on it, which explained why the engine was bigger.

The day I bought it, and got it to my house, the fuel pump died. The current fuel pump at the time was only putting out about 17psi, which was not nearly enough for the L98. So that was replaced and it has been working amazingly since. Oh and it has roughly 108k miles on it.

Now, I do have a few concerns that I've noticed.

1. My oil pressure drops quite a bit after the car has been running for awhile, when idling the pressure is around 10 on the dash. But fluctuates when I give it some gas. Should I be severely concerned or potentially look into getting some parts replaced? thank you.

2. Earlier today, I had to punch it to avoid being rear ended, But it seemed to lag at around 3000-3500rpm. But as I eased of the gas a bit, it was fine. It's been doing so almost as if I've hit the rev limiter and it's quite agitating. Any suggestions or possibly diagnoses? thank you.

And lastly, this question isn't a concern at all.
I was just trying to find the value of my car.
I do know it IS 1 of the 592 B4C RS's from 91, it does have 108k miles.
so my question is, because of it being one of the few made, would that increase the value? I'm just simply curious.

I do have a picture of it in my album on my profile, and there will be more added eventually.

thank you all for any help that I can get.

rock on

Re: Few potential problems/questions.

1. Rule of thumb - when hot, oil pressure should be about 10 at idle, add 10 for each 1000 rpm. Yours sound like normal behaviour. Also, the stock gauge has a reputation for not being entirely accurate.

2. Have you done the usual tune-up stuff - plugs, wires, dist cap, filters, check timing etc etc?

Re: Few potential problems/questions.

Preserve as much factory documentation as you can if you want to have your car increase in value as much as possible.

Save the build sheet in a plastic sleeve.

Take some clear pictures of the SPID.

Can you determine if it is the oroginal block?

Keep it the factory color.

Keeps mods to a minimum and do nothing that can't be returned to stock.

Keep all your original parts.

Nice, rare part of third gen history you have there.
