Re: which fuel pump is best?

No guarantees on anyone's brand of pump. Alot of folks like the Walbro's. I installed a AC/Delco pump from CarQuest 5 years ago and no problems here {yet}. I figure the GM OEM part lasted 15 years with no issues, so another one should last another 15 years - but only time will tell the tale.

Re: which fuel pump is best?

I love everything said about the Bosche pump except the near quiet running

nice to hear it prime and know its working.

"Bosch state-of-the-art turbine fuel pumps offer many advantages when compared to older roller-cell and inner-gear pump designs. Not only do these pumps offer near silent operation and improved drivability, the core components of this turbine design significantly reduce wear and deliver a longer service life. Illustrated step-by-step instructions are included with all Bosch Turbine Fuel Pumps for safe and easy installation.

Bosch Fuel Pump Features
Superior turbine pump design virtually eliminates fuel pulsation. Provides better drivability, reduced noise, and longer life
Bosch impeller ring provides smooth fuel flow and reliable performance
Precision, spin-balanced and polymer-encased armature reduces noise and vibration
Premium carbon brushes provide a longer and more reliable service life
Non-return valve maintains system pressure and reduces hot start problems
Noise suppression coil virtually eliminates radio frequency interference "

Re: which fuel pump is best?

I've always read here alot of folks complaining about the Airtex - I believe that's the standard el-cheapo pump from advance/autozone.

Re: which fuel pump is best?

i have been selling auto parts for years. ive been selling delco for the last 5 as a wholesaler to shops. i discontinued airtex as almost every one i sold came back defective. right now i sell delco and denso pumps, the only ones i would recommend aside from those are delphi and bosch. however, bosch's quality has been slipping in recent years and delphi is still in bankruptcy.

Re: which fuel pump is best?

big fan of ACDelco, Walbro, and Bosch pumps. All well made, very few issues. I've personally run acd and walbro in my own vehicles. Since these cars are such a bear to do a pump swap on, I'm more than happy to pay a few extra dollars to save doing the job again any time soon.

Re: which fuel pump is best?

Do it right the first time and go with delco or walboro cause we all know its a pain dropping that tank.
