Advice on 92 camaro cam
I have a 1992 camaro rs with the 305 tbi. I just bought a comp cam with the lift specs of .450/.480. Am i going to have binding problems or should I be okay? Any help is greatly appreciated, thanks!

Well, I am not sure what you mean about binding problems, but I assume you are replacing the cam, lifters, springs and all? I would advise taking your heads to a machine shop and having them set the heads up for the equipment you have.

Re: Advice on 92 camaro cam
I actually just bought the cam. I talked to a guy at a machinne shop and he said the stock lifters should work because rollers dont really go bad. Although he couldnt tell me if the lift on the cam would be to high at the exhaust and cause the springs to fully compress and start bending pushrods which then I would have to take the heads off and grind down under the springs so they can move more but I really wanted to avoid removing the heads if i dont absolutely have to.

I dropped a Comp XR264HR in my z28 and it has something like .488 intake lift and .495 exhaust lift and I had to have the heads machined. You can use that as a baseline to gage your needs by. My motor is a 350.
