That makes me moist
Hey guys...my car has a very loud squealing noise in rain.
Basically, if I leave my car out all night while it is raining, and start it up in the morning, it will be squealing LOUD. I've listened to it while it runs and I BELIEVE it is coming from the alternator, but I'm not 100% sure.
It would make sense if it squealed WHILE just started raining, but it doesn't. Only after it's been sitting out in rain. Can water be getting through the hood somehow and it's screwing up the alt? Or is it because it's moist outside or something?
(and it might not be the alt...but I believe it is coming from it...Car is so loud it's hard to identify exactly where the sound is coming from). Also, it's been doing this since I bought the car and hasn't given any driveability problems...just really ****ing annoying.
Thanks

Had the same problem. Tighten your alternator belt as hard as you can or get a friend to help you do it.
