Big Block cam ID?

I pulled the cam out today, trying to figure out the specs.

It's stamped "CWC" towards the back of the cam between two lobes, the back of the cam says "M215" and "951944". Then between the lobes all over the cam are two digit numbers (ie "13"). Anybody able to give me any more information on the cam? It's a flat tappet setup.

Re: Big Block cam ID?

Personally I would start with the body work. But that's because I know what to do. Like you I have limited knowledge of engines

Re: Big Block cam ID?

CWC is the manufacturer of the cam blank. 215 is probably the duration which is pretty mild. It's quite possible it's a simple TRW factory replacement camshaft. Nothing special.

Re: Big Block cam ID?

From what I've been told by the local shop that built it, it was a low duration high lift cam. The guy who originally built it doesn't remember the specs and the owner can't find the cam card so I was trying to figure it out.
