Car: 1985 Z-28
Engine: 305 TPI
Transmission: 87 700R4 repl. for 85 700Rjunk
1985 Z28 305 TPI no spark
I posted a few months back and thought that I had the issue resolved, however, I went back out to the car and the issues started again.
Just to refresh anyone that had helped me earlier:
New coil
New ESC
New plugs
New wires
New IAC
New alternator
New battery
New EVAP solenoid
New ECM
Checked timing, set to 8 deg BTDC
Fuel pressure where it needs to be
I have yet to see if it's jumped chain, however, everytime that I set it to TDC #1 piston is in the same spot when it's @ TDC on the timing mark.
Just getting really frustrated with the car, it's got 28k on it with no evidence of why, other than the shorted EVAP solenoid that fried the ECM...all wiring has been been fixed.
I will be more than willing to provide any info if you thought I forgot it.
Thanks ahead of time.
If you're in the Lansing area in MI and are a "competent" TPI person I would be more than willing to compensate for your time...parts, money, whatever. I just want this car running for spring. I am a technician with limited TPI knowledge looking to learn about my car and fix it right for the long haul. If I can't get the TPI running, looking for some help on an LT1 swap.

Check the module in the distributor. Pull the cap off, the module is screwed into the bottom of the distributor it's a "Half Moon" shaped, black 5 pin electronic piece. I've seen tons of these go bad on HEI ignition systems.

Yeah I would check that out as well. I would assume you have already checked the basics of power and ground issues. I am pretty sure you have the 7 pin module that comes in cc distributors. I pulled a module out of a junk 305 cc carb car to put in mine. Even old GM's are better than new autozone modules.
