Just as the title reads it happens when I'm walking up to the car even when I'm driving

Check to make sure the vent on top is working and not clogged, as the fuel level goes down the air needs to come in from the vent

Vent where could I access this?
Would it be in the owner manual
Also I just found small leak in gas tank and put some jb weld on it and that didn't hold to well
But some what stoped the leak but the banging continues

The vent is attached to a rubber hose at the top of the tank. It's a one way valve that lets air in as the fuel level drops. If it gets clogged the air can't get in and the banging sound is the tank imploding a bit (like if you suck on an empty plastic soda bottle).

The gas cap is vented out, so if excessive positive pressure builds up in the tank it can vent out. The EVAP system (charcoal canister and controls) should handle most of this, but if the pressure gets too high it will vent out the gas cap.

I am guessing that the noise started right after you fixed the leak in the tank, right? The leak was letting the pressure in/out of the tank.

I think the pressure is the banging you hear, either expanding or contracting of the tank. For what it costs, I would change the vent valve (and make sure the line is not clogged) and the gas cap and see if that fixes it.

couldent fix leak the gas wet right threw the jb weld

will check vent ALSO it seems to have almost gone away completely after i put the jb weld on because its covering the crack it just cracked threw the jb weld and is now hissing
