Oil pump mounting bolt stripped.
The bolt that holds the oil pump to the bearing cap is stripped. The oil pump is stuck on the cap as the bolt will spin but wont pull up.
What are my options at this point?
Can I use another bearing cap from another block I have sitting around?
Both are mid '70s Chevy 350 4 bolt main blocks.

Re: Oil pump mounting bolt stripped.
Can't really mix & match caps on blocks like that, as the caps and block are machined together. Doing that requires that the block be align-bored. Costs more than another block.
As common and cheeeep as those blocks are, unless you already have a bunch of money in machine work in it, you might as well just throw it away and use another.
I should also add: It may be possible to Heli-Coil it, depending on exactly why it's stripped. However, if it was because somebody gorilla'ed it at some point in its life or used the wrong bolt (too long) and bottomed it into the bearing & crank, it may already be so distorted that it's no good regardless.
