engine troubles someone help!!!!
Hi i have a 1989 trans am gta 5.7 tpi that I bought a couple of months ago and Im having some problems that I really need help on. I am trying to change the oil and the first problem is that there is no oil dipstick and secondly I'm not sure where to put in the oil. also there are about 5 different wires that aren't plugged in Ive searched and there is no where for them to go. I'm think one of two things either the guy who owned it before me replaced all the connectors with new wires and left the old ones hanging or maybe this car had an engine swap. I'm really worried if someone could help set my mind at ease i would appreciate it. If you need more info then just ask. Thanks

Alright, the oil dipstick tube should be on the passenger side of the engine. It goes into the engine between the starter and the engine block. Oil you can put in threw a cap on the valve cover. As for the wires, can you take pictures? Where are they located?

Well you don't add oil threw the dipstick :P. There should be a cap on one of your valve covers, just put it in there. As for the dipstick, there has to be something in the dipsticks hole, otherwise it'd be leaking. (Unless the person who put the engine together has a dipstick-less oil pan gasket)
I'd get under there and feel around behind the starter for a broken/smashed tube. If so, putting a new one in is a walk in the park. Let us know.
