trouble changing sparkplugs, wires
I checked all over the internet and didn't find any information. fellow IROC owners, how the hell did you get to your sparkplugs for changing? is there something i should remove? those damn headers are in my way, so in the way, in fact, that simply changing my spark wires is a pain in the ***. i managed to change 6 out of 8, the two i couldnt change because there was just so much....vacuum tube, dipstick, and freaking headers in the way. Is this job easier if i got under the car? i only managed to change one plug, and even doing that was a pain in the ***. please help me out, what did you guys do to change yours?

On a car with A/C you might find it easier from underneath.

Re: trouble changing sparkplugs, wires
I gave in and unhooked my headers to change mine. I took out the A/C and emissions stuff so the headers were the only thing in my way... I miss my car

Re: trouble changing sparkplugs, wires
Cut your spark plug socket and cut it down a bit and use a wrench on the boxed end of the socket. You should be able to get to all but the 6 & 8 cylinders with ease, unless your headers are the very poorly designed type and dont allow for any wriggle room, man I hate those things!!

Re: trouble changing sparkplugs, wires
I just did mine for the first time the other day did the driver side from the top and when I got to the passenger side I did the front 2 from top(Girl with small hands) and the back 2 from the bottom was much easier! Good luck! Front would be towards the front bumper!

Remove all of that heavy AC equipment and it opens up a lot of room to work in.

Re: trouble changing sparkplugs, wires
I find it easiest to get the rearmost 3 or 4 from underneath. Didn't need to modify a socket or anything and can get the whole job done, including jacking the car, quicker than doing them all from above.

Re: trouble changing sparkplugs, wires
There is a way to do the even bank from the top. Remove the plugs, starting with the #2 cylinder 1st. It helps to just break the plug loose then remove the socket and unscrew it by hand (if you can lol). Then just work your way back up to the front putting the plugs back in, be sure you put the plug wire on before moving on to the next one though.
