If those are the only choices, then the HOT is better matched to the HSR.

Keep in mind that the Hotcam specs are given using 1.6 rockers, and the Comp cam is almost certainly given using 1.5 rockers. Most cams are spec'd with 1.5s. That Comp cam is advertised at 510/510, but with the 1.6's it's actually 544/544!!!!!!!
...also, the hotcam is a great cam, and it's proven, but it's what, 15 years old? I've read countless articles and posts about people having great under the curve success with the lobe profiles on the Xtreme energy cams. Lift is lift but there's a LOT of tech in a lobe profile.
Not saying I wouldn't use the HC, just giving you food for thought.

In a true LT4, the Comp 07-304-08 cam outperforms the factory "Hot" cam. The 07-305-08 is even better. I installed both in an LT1. Unfortunately, the 07-304-08 was sold off or it would be available. On a 1994 LT1 with larger intake/exhaust runners (194cc), 2.02/1.60 valves (yes, iron heads), raised intake ports, and ported intake, the 07-304-08 was better than the original cam, better than the "Hot" cam with crappy aluminum rockers, and turned out to be not as good as the 07-305-08. Either of the two Comp cams had at least as much low end torque as the Hot cam and both provided flatter torque curves. The 305 sacrificed a tiny bit of low end over the 304 but moved the RPM range up to about 6,400 with enough torque to still pull.
One of these is now a doorstop somewhere:

I've tried the 304, but with a custom order, it is possible to do even better.

Re: Lt4Hotcam vs. comp Xtream 266HR-14 HELP
Two things: There's a consideralbe difference between the HotCam and the Comversion. I saw 210 Vs 218 IN - 220 Vs 228 EX in duration. So you're sorta comparing apples with oranges.
Secondly, I prefer the XFI lobes since they were designed by Comp specifically for the LT engine.
BTW, 6 DEGREES is the usual difference (rule of thumb) between once cam size and another. In your case you're looking at more than that.
Just my views.

Re: Lt4Hotcam vs. comp Xtream 266HR-14 HELP
Where'd you read that? They're not just for the LTx, though they can be used there. And they're intended to work well in many apps. Those exact XFI "SBC" lobes have been used with even more success in Mopar Magnum 360 builds, for one example.
A custom ground cam would be best, and XFI lobes give great window area, but they're not best for everything.

I could have sworn I read the same thing Jake read from summit's website
EDIT: yep, in the links in the original post
Hotcam @50 : 218/228
Comp @50: 210/220
or did I misunderstand you Atilla?
