hyd vs Mechanical Roller cam

whats the difference in cams?can I run a Mechanical Roller in my 88 camaro?

Solid rollers are for when you need to turn more rpm than the hydraulic lifters can keep up with. For daily street use, forget the solids, they add hassle and expense, but don't add much of anything else worth having. Done correctly, the hydraulics can manage sustained 6500 with brief blasts to 7000.
